Something not working, or a question? Write to hello@dreistudio.ch and say which iPhone and iOS version you are on. We answer within a few days.

Before you write: the app keeps everything on your phone, so a deleted walk is gone — there is no copy we could restore. If a postcard will not paint, check your key on the key screen; the app tells you there whether the key works.

Terms of use

1. The app

Flaneur is provided by DREi Studio GmbH under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Walks, notes, the companion and the journal are free. By installing or using the app you agree to these terms; if you do not, do not use it.

2. Who can use it

You need to be old enough to hold an Apple Account in your country. Flaneur is not directed at children under 13.

3. Your key, your account

Painting a postcard sends a prompt to Google's Gemini API using an API key you paste into the app. That key, the Google account behind it, Google's terms and any cost Google charges for it are yours. We never receive the key, the prompt or the image. Keep the key to yourself as you would a password; the app stores it in the iOS keychain on your phone.

4. What you make is yours

Your notes and your postcards are yours to keep, share, print or delete. We claim no rights in them, take no licence to them, and have no copy of them.

5. Use

Use the app for your own walks. Do not use it to harm others, to interfere with the services it talks to, or to get around their limits or ours. Share a postcard only where you are allowed to.

6. Third parties

Painting uses Google (Gemini) under your own agreement with Google; speech recognition may use Apple's servers where your phone cannot do it on-device; the optional better voice is downloaded from Hugging Face. Their terms govern their services. What reaches each of them is listed on the privacy page.

7. What we do not promise

A postcard is a painting made by a model from your words; it may be wrong, odd, or not what you hoped, and painting can fail when the network or Google's service does. The app is provided as is. Flaneur is not a navigation or safety product — you are walking in traffic; look up.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, DREi Studio GmbH is liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including consumer law where you live.

9. Law and forum

Swiss law applies; the courts of Zug, Switzerland are competent, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections and forums in your country of residence.

10. Changes

We change these terms by publishing a new version here with a new date.
